很多人都把Let it be當做是Paul在緬懷Beatles解散這回事的歌曲，其實當Paul在做這首歌的時候，Beatles還沒解散(只是吵架狀態)，Paul說：「這首歌會寫出來是因為夢到我媽媽(保羅的媽媽在他14歲過世)，小時候我做錯事，我媽總是對我說"let it be"(就讓它過去吧)，我們常常有不如意的事或做錯事，但就let it be吧。」

Paul說：「很高興可以在邀請我媽回來，就好像作夢一樣被祝福。」

而以上放的是let it be......naked (2003上市)，是原始Beatles在拍攝影片錄下的音樂最原始的配樂，對於Paul來說，這才是他心中真正的版本，他認為let it be是樸實無華，美麗智慧的歌曲。
